Question

[edit]

Can Sierra Six (one of the Gray Man novele by Mark Greaney) be added to the popular culture? CarverSindile (talk) 13:36, 5 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding R&AW's logo/seal/emblem

[edit]

There is no official and concrete evidence that the image currently used in infobox is the logo/seal/emblem of R&AW. If anyone has any information/sources, I'd love to see, for the meanwhile, I am removing the image. Thank you, User4edits (talk) 05:38, 16 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Further, there are many anomalies in the image, as follows:
1. The logo does not conform to the design patterns used by Govt agencies. For example see [:File:Intelligence Bureau.svg].
2. Secondly, and a major issue -- in the image, the English texts precede Hindi version. This is impossible for any Govt bilingual logo. The Hindi text comes first.
3. Thirdly, it simply appears to be a novice attempt by some individual to give a graphic identity to the agency by downloading Indian National Emblem, putting it in two wheat braids, and put applicable text inside it.
Therefore, I am expecting some strong and concrete evidence other than re-use of the image by news outlets, or the usage of this image in web/tv series.

Further, further,
The concerned individual seems to have made two logos, with same idea. The R&AW one,
and the Intelligence Bureau (India) one -- as can be seen here. Regards, User4edits (talk) 05:48, 16 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I have a question. If we don't have any official information regarding the logo or insignia of R&AW, can we use the national emblem as a de facto seal? Adiiitya (talk) 18:09, 18 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Motto

[edit]

The attached reference for the motto explains the meaning of ‘Dharmo Rakshati Rakshitah,’ but it does not confirm if it is the agency’s official motto. Therefore, I am removing it for now. Please add only those references which confirm the agency’s motto, officially. Thank you. 25 CENTS VICTORIOUS 🍁 21:20, 13 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I discussed this a month ago: please do not add the agency motto until you have a source to justify it. I am removing it again; do not add it back unless you have a source.25 CENTS VICTORIOUS 🍁 12:16, 25 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Motto at the worst situation to die and the happiness is surrounded by a tiranga and die as a warrior 152.58.21.102 (talk) 07:31, 13 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Reference for the motto have been provided and added back. Thanks, Please feel free to ping/mention -- User4edits (T) 08:02, 13 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The added reference requires a subscription, making it impossible to confirm which part of the reference supports the agency’s motto. Therefore, I kindly request that you add a reference that does not require a subscription. Thank you. 25 CENTS VICTORIOUS 🍁 13:29, 13 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
For me, the page (with the given URL) opens without any subscription. GoogleBooks does not require a subscription. And even if they do you should not undo edits and discard subscription-only references. Wikipedia is community-based, and an article needs to meet the community-decided policies and rules, and not the personal satisfaction of individual editors. Please read WP:PAYWALL, and WP:OWN. I have undone your edits based on such principles, please do not engage in further undo/redo. Thanks, Please feel free to ping/mention -- User4edits (T) 05:55, 14 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
